Café Manager (Full-Time, Salaried)

Location: Ecusta Market & Café – Hendersonville, NC

Employment Type: Full-Time (40–45 hours/week)

Compensation: $45,000/year + perks

Schedule: Off Tuesdays & Wednesdays – Saturdays and Sundays required, mostly day shifts with occasional evenings

Position Overview

Ecusta Market & Café is hiring a full-time Café Manager to lead our front-of-house café team. We’re a locally owned business focused on wholesome food, quality ingredients, and genuine community hospitality. This role is a balance of floor leadership and administrative work, helping create a smooth, welcoming, and efficient guest experience in a fast-paced, counter-service setting.

The Café Manager is the primary point of contact for the FOH team and works closely with the owners and kitchen manager. This role is ideal for someone with previous leadership experience in cafés or restaurants who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the café team during opening and mid-day shifts

  • Manage scheduling, shift coverage, and time-off requests

  • Oversee ordering and vendor communication for coffee, beer/wine, pastries, and restaurant supplies

  • Maintain high standards for quality, cleanliness, and hospitality

  • Coordinate with owners on weekly specials, menu updates, and service changes

  • Support payroll preparation, deposits, and daily operations

  • Handle minor staff issues and customer concerns professionally

  • Draft weekly FOH staff emails

  • Light social media assistance

  • Lead by example with a strong, consistent, and supportive presence

  • Always work Saturdays and Sundays during the day

  • Occasionally work evening shifts on Monday, Thursday, or Friday depending on needs

Schedule Overview (Typical Week)

Days Off: Tuesdays & Wednesdays

  • Monday: 7 AM – 3 PM

  • Thursday: 7 AM – 3 PM

  • Friday: 7 AM – 3 PM

  • Saturday: 7 AM – 3 PM

  • Sunday: 9 AM – 7 PM→ ~42–45 hours/week (includes weekends and some evenings)

Requirements

  • At least 1 year in a FOH leadership role

  • Strong communication, organization, and team-building skills

  • Experience with scheduling, ordering, and vendor coordination

  • Ability to work weekends and occasional evenings

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and calm under pressure

  • Passion for food, coffee, hospitality, and building a positive culture
