Café Manager (Hourly, Part-Time)

Ecusta Market & Cafe is seeking a strong, hospitality-driven Café Manager to lead the front-of-house experience in our café. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on daily execution, guest experience, and operational consistency.

This position requires availability for nights and weekends, including Sundays.

Position Details

Type: Hourly, non-exempt

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Overtime: Paid in accordance with state and federal law

100% off café food

20% off market groceries (excluding alcohol)

Role Overview

This is a hospitality and execution-driven leadership role focused entirely on café operations and guest experience.

The Café Manager serves as the host and visible leader of the café. The primary responsibility of this role is presence on the floor — setting the tone, maintaining standards, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Consistently table-touch guests

• Complete a two-minute / two-bite check-back with every guest

• Pre-bus tables proactively

• Monitor food and drinks as they leave the kitchen/bar

• Maintain high hospitality standards at all times

Scheduling

• Create and manage the front-of-house café schedule

• Identify coverage gaps and hiring needs in coordination with ownership

Inventory & Ordering

• Manage café inventory levels

• Order restaurant supplies

• Order beer and wine

• Order coffee, tea, golden milk, and syrups

• Receive and manage pastry deliveries

• Oversee proper slacking procedures

• Maintain expiration and rotation standards

Merchandising & Cleanliness

• Maintain visually strong pastry displays

• Ensure accurate pricing and signage

• Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the café

Systems & Execution

• Enter specials into POS

• Create signage for specials

• Assist with holiday and event execution

Staff Leadership

• Enforce existing company policies

• Be present during performance evaluations

• Participate in interviews as requested
